Lady Pioneers Race to Fifth Straight Victory

The Alfred State women's soccer team outshot Genesee CC 34 to 5 and earned a 3-1 victory on a rainy Tuesday afternoon.  The #5 ranked Lady Pioneers have five straight wins and improve to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in Region III Division III play.

Kali Muhleisen (Alfred Almond) accounted for all three Lady Pioneer goals in the contest.  She scored her first goal at 24:48 of the 1st half.  She made it 2-0 five minutes into the 2nd half after getting a pass from Keri Teufel (Holbrook/Sachem).

Genesee's Summer Bliss scored five minutes later to cut the lead to 2-1 but Muhleisen capped the scoring with just over seven minutes remaining to record her second hat trick of the season.  Muhleisen now leads Alfred State with 11 goals on the season.

Krista DeCarlo (Bayshore/West Islip) made three saves in net for the Lady Pioneers while Nicole Patterson made 13 for the Cougars.

During Alfred's five game winning streak the Lady Pioneers have netted 19 goals and have allowed just two.

The Pioneers wrap up their homestand on Thursday when they host Broome CC at 6 p.m.
