#2 Genesee Downs Alfred

The Alfred State men's soccer team fell behind early and never could rebound vs. #2 Genesee CC.  GCC improves to 7-1 with a 6-1 victory.

Genesee scored three goals in the first 16 minutes and added another by the end of the half to lead 4-0.  Late in the 2nd half, GCC added two more goals before Shane Joyce (Irondequoit) broke up the shutout with a free kick goal with just over seven minutes remaining in the game.

Leo Micklethwaite and Dominic Francis led GCC with two goals each as the Cougars outshot the Pioneers 14 to 10 in the game.

Alfred (2-4-2) returns to action on Thursday when they host Broome CC at 4 p.m.
