Lady Spikers Sweep Onondaga Pod

For the second weekend in a row the Alfred State volleyball team swept through POD play.  The Lady Pioneers were 3-0 this weekend at the Onondaga CC POD to improve to 12-4 overall and 8-1 in Region III Division III play.

The Pioneers earned a 25-8, 25-16, 25-14 victory over Cayuga CC to start the day.  They then went on to defeat Jefferson CC 25-20, 25-16, 25-21.  They finished the day by defeating Onondaga CC 25-16, 25-12, 19-25, 25-20.

Mallory Eberhardt (Lyons) had a big day finishing with 23 digs, 22 kills, and 11 aces.  Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) finished with 36 kills and 26 digs while Lera Braun (Waterloo) had 75 assists and 18 digs.  Jess Ramsey (Tioga) added 45 digs and five aces while Brittany Hill (Lindley/Corning West) had 14 kills and Rebecca Hanrahan (Greene) chipped in 10 kills.

The Lady Pioneers travel to Niagara CCC on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. battle with #7 Niagara CCC.
