Women's Soccer Ranked #5

The Alfred State women's soccer team has climbed into the NJCAA Division III poll for the first time in 2012.  The Lady Pioneers debut in the second poll of the season with the #5 ranking.

The Lady Pioneers have won three straight games after dropping their opener to DI Monroe College.  In the three game winning streak, Alfred has outscored their opponents 10 to 1.

Ocean County College is ranked #1 in the poll followed by Region III schools Finger Lakes CC and Mohawk Valley CC.  Bunker Hill CC is 4th followed by Alfred State, Rochester CTC, Holyoke CC, Herkimer CCC, College of DuPage, and Anne Arundel CC.

The Lady Pioneers are led by Kali Mulheisen (Alfred Almond).  Mulheisen has six goals and three assists on the year.  Krista DeCarlo (Bayshore/West Islip) has been solid in net with a 1.02 goals against average and two shutouts.

Alfred returns to action on Saturday when they host Mercyhurst North East.  Game time is slated for a 1 p.m. start at Pioneer Stadium.
