Pioneers Split Tri-Match

The Alfred State volleyball team split a pair of matches in a Region III Division III tri-match at Finger Lakes CC.  The Pioneers fell 3-0 (19-25, 15-25, 25-27) to #5 Monroe CC and the rebounded for a 3-1 (25-17, 23-25, 25-20, 25-22)victory over Finger Lakes CC.  Alfred is now 9-4 on the year and 5-1 in RIII DIII play.

Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) led the Lady Pioneers with 20 kills, 24 digs, and four aces in the pair of matches.  Lera Braun (Waterloo) chipped in 58 assists and 17 digs, Michelle Wesolowski (Attica) had 10 kills and four blocks, and Jessica Ramsey (Tioga) had 41 digs.  Sarah Linn (Portville) added 10 kills while Rebecca Hanrahan (Greene) finished with nine kills.

The Pioneers travel to the Onondaga CC Pod on Sunday.  They take on Cayuga CC at 12:30 p.m., Jefferson CC at 2 p.m. and Onondaga CC at 5 p.m.
