Lady Spikers Tripped up By Monroe

The Alfred State volleyball team fell 18-25, 20-25, 25-18, 17-25 to Monroe CC in a WNYAC match in the Orvis Activities Center.  The Lady Tribunes improve to 11-0, 2-0 WNYAC while the Lady Pioneers fall to 8-3, 0-2 WNYAC.

Lera Braun (Waterloo) led the way with 27 assists and 19 digs.  Sarah Linn (Portville) registered 11 digs and 11 kills, Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) had 17 digs and 12 kills, and Jess Ramsey (Tioga) finished with 13 digs.

Erica Thompson (Cicero) led Monroe with 14 kills and 10 blocks while Denae Rinaldo (Canastota) finished with 19 digs and 11 kills.

Alfred and Monroe meet up again in their Region III Division III match on Thursday.  The Pioneers and Tribunes will battle at 6 p.m. at Finger Lakes CC.  Alfred then will take on FLCC at 8 p.m.  This tri-meet was not on the original schedule and was just recently added.
