Lady Pioneers Sweep Alfred Pod

The Alfred State volleyball team swept all four matches of the Alfred Pod on Saturday.  With the sweep the Lady Pioneers are 8-2 on the year and 4-0 in Region III Division III play.

The blue & gold defeated Fulton Montgomery CC (25-23, 31-29, 25-19), Columbia Greene CC (25-8, 25-8, 25-16), Hudson Valley CC (25-7, 25-10, 25-17), and SUNY Adirondack (26-24, 25-17, 25-15).

Lera Braun (Waterloo) led the way for the Lady Pioneers with 92 assists, 24 service aces, 24 digs, and 20 kills.  Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) chipped in 34 kills, 23 digs, and eight aces, Mallory Eberhardt (Lyons) made her season debut with 18 kills and 16 digs, and Jessica Ramsey (Tioga) had 46 digs.

The blue & gold return to action on Tuesday when they host Monroe CC in a WNYAC match-up slated for a 6 p.m. start in the Orvis Activities Center.
