Cross Country Sweeps Alfred Invitational

The Alfred State cross country swept both the men's and women's races at the annual Alfred Invitational in a steady rain.  Both team's scored a perfect 15.

The Pioneer men finished 1-7 led by Jedadiah Platt (Appelton/Barker).  Platt finished the 8k course in 31:53.71.  Jordan Rusek (Buffalo/Williamsville East) was 2nd (31:54.94), Logan Phillips (Genesee Valley) was 3rd (32:41.72), Casey Hopkins (Boston/Hamburg) was 4th (32:56.04), and Zachary Hale (Rochester/Greece Athena) was 5th (33:47.23). 

Finger Lakes CC finished the event with 54 points to earn 2nd and Mercyhurst North East was 3rd with 74.

The Lady Pioneers were led by Kim Lupo's (Warsaw) first place finish.  Lupo crossed the 5k finish line in 23:34.83.  Elizabeth Brown (Randolph) was 2nd (24:09.26), Megan Dillon (Angola/Lake Shore) was 3rd (24:18.24), Katy Monahan (Warsaw) was 4th (24:25.59), and Claire Holleran (Penfield) was 5th (25:02.57).

The blue & gold travel to Canandiagua to compete in the annual Finger Lakes CC Invitational.
