Penalties Slow Down Pioneers

The Alfred State lacrosse team had trouble staying out of the penalty box in a 13-6 loss at Tompkins Cortland CC on Saturday.  The Pioneers were flagged for 10 penalties in the contest.

The Panthers led througout the game.  They held a 3-1 lead after the 1st quarter, a 6-4 advantage at halftime, and led 9-5 heading into the final quarter.

Chance Lowry (Waterloo) led the blue & gold with two goals and an assist while Mike Hart (Ajax, ONT) had a goal and an assist.  Brad Zacher (Medina), Kyle Davis (Cortland/Homer), and Frank Martin (Whitney Point) all found the back of the net once.

Brad Stowell (Marcellus) made 22 saves in net.

The Pioneers (2-3, 2-2 Region III) will host Mercyhurst North East at Pioneer Stadium on Wednesday with opening face-off slated for 4 p.m.
