Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

The Alfred State baseball team committed five errors in the first two innings and fell behind early and never could recover in a 13-0 loss at Roane State (TN) CC.  The Pioneers are 0-5 in the early going of the 2012 season.

In total, Alfred allowed eight unearned runs in the contest and was held to just four hits.  Joe Dullea (Cold Spring/Haldane) tossed three solid innings of relief allowing two earned runs.  Jordan Wheaton (Wayland Cochocton) was 1 for 3 with a double.

The Pioneers take on Roane State again on Wednesday.  First pitch of the nine-inning contest is slated for 2 p.m.
