Pioneers Remain 11th at Swim Nationals

The Alfred State men's swimming team remains in 11th place after the third day of competition at the NJCAA National Championships.  The Pioneers have 164 points heading into the final day of events on Saturday.

The 200 medley relay team of Tyler Sherwood (Elmira Southside), Mark Pendleton (Beacon), Jake Giglio (Hornell), and Josh McDowell (Wayland Cohocton) finished 11th in 1:45.76.

Giglio recorded the best individual event finish of the championships in the 100 fly with a 14th place finish.  He clocked a time of 54.85.  Sherwood was 19th in the 100 back (1:01.52), Josh Stellrecht (Oakfield Alabama) was 21st in the 100 back (1:04.05), Pendleton was 22nd in the 400 IM (4:49.23), and McDowell was 24th in the 100 fly (1:00.65).

Action concludes on Saturday from Indian River State College (Ft. Pierce, FL) with preliminaries at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
