Swimming Districts: Day Two Wrap

Jake Giglio (Hornell) and Tyler Sherwood (Elmira Southside) earned 3rd place finishes to highlight Day 2 of the Northeast Districts/Region III Championships at Monroe CC.

Giglio was 3rd in the 100 fly in 56.97 while Sherwood with 3rd in the 100 back in 1:00.78.

Giglio and Sherwood were also part of the 800 free relay team that finished 3rd in 8:10.72.  They were joined by Mark Pendleton (Beacon) and Josh Stellrecht (Basom/Oakfield Alabama) on the relay.

The 200 medley relay team of Sherwood, Pendleton, Josh McDowell (Wayland Cohocton), and Stellrecht finished 4th in 1:49.92.

Pendleton also registered a top six finish in the 400 IM.  He was 6th in the 400 IM in 4:52.69.

Maggie McBurney (Syracuse/Jamesville Dewitt) was 6th in the 400 IM in 6:17.34.

Action concludes on Sunday with prelims at 9 a.m. and finals at 3:30 p.m.
