Students Travel to Cleveland for Workshop

Students in ClevelandSix students enrolled in Alfred State’s sport management program, accompanied by faculty members Dr. Cliff McPeak and Dr. Rhema Fuller, recently traveled to the Quicken Loans Arena and Progressive Field in downtown Cleveland for a one-day workshop on ticket sales. (Ticketing is typically an entry point for graduates who seek careers in sport management with professional sport franchises.) Three 75-minute sessions occurred covering various topics involved in ticket sales. In total, 95 students from 16 colleges and universities in six states attended the conference. Additionally, there were approximately two dozen professional franchises in attendance to conduct 15-minute interviews with the students for full-time positions or internships in the future. Although students were responsible for the cost of the trip, funds from the Sport Management Club were used to mitigate some of their expenses.
