Hall and Nagle Named Athletes of the Week
Alex Hall (Jamaica/Forest Hill) and Travis Nagle (Randolph) have been named the Alfred State athletes of the week by the SID office.
Hall had a big week for the Pioneer basketball team. He averaged 23 ppg and 9 rpg in the blue & gold's three contests. He recorded a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds vs. Genesee, had 26 points and nine rebounds at Erie, and finished the week with 21 points and seven rebounds at Niagara. For the season, Hall is averaging 13.8 ppg and 6.2 rebounds. He leads the team with 52 made 3-pointers.
Nagle set a new college record with a 2nd place finish at the Region III heptathlon. He scored 4,198 points to break the previous record of 3,961 held by Schuyler Duross. Nagle scored 679 points with a jump of 1.86 m in the high jump, 673 points with a pole vault of 4.20, and 662 points with a 3:00.23 run in the 1,000.
Hall and the Pioneers have three contests scheduled this week while Nagle heads to the Region III Championships at RIT on Friday.
