The Terrace Competes in State-wide Best Burger Restaurant Contest
Juicy beef burgers take center stage in the New York Beef Industry Council’s 2012 Best Burger Restaurant competition, and the Dining Services team at Alfred State is bullish on bringing home the prize. The contest winner will be selected from online votes placed between Feb. 1 and March 15, 2012.
Bron Norasethaporn, catering manager for Auxiliary Campus Enterprises and Services (ACES), developed the recipe for The Terrace’s new signature dish, the Asian Twist Mandarin Beef Burger, using local beef from Allegany County’s Wilson’s Beef Farms. The burger comes with a traditional side of cucumber salad dressed with local honey from Dick’s Bees, also from Allegany County.
“We love using local products, and our new signature burger highlights some of the best beef from right in our own backyard,” said Karen Canne, director of Dining Services. “Bron has cooked up a burger that is a perfect blend of East-West cuisine that we’re proud to serve to our customers.”
The burger will be served in the Terrace on the following schedule:
Feb. 10, 15, 17, 21, 23, 29
March 2, 8
Feb. 16, 22, 27
Feb. 11, 18
