Dorsey and Parker Named Athletes of the Week

Briana Dorsey (Rochester/School of the Arts) and Pat Parker (Queens/Hillcrest) have been named the Alfred State athletes of the week by the SID office.

Dorsey had a strong showing at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational. She just missed qualifying for the NJCAA National Championships in the 500 m by .4 seconds.  She finished 4th overall with a time of 1:23.99.  Dorsey was also part of the 4x200 relay team that finished 4th overall in the competition (1:54.58).

Parker had a solid week on the hardwood for the Pioneers.  He scored a team high 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in Alfred State's victory over Jamestown-Olean.  In the Pioneers other contest, he finished with 10 points and six boards.  On the season he leads the team with a 17.8 point per game average and six rebounds.

Dorsey is next in competition this weekend at Cornell University while Parker and the men's basketball team starts a busy three-game week on Tuesday with a 7:30 p.m. home contest with Genesee CC.
