Lady Pioneers Race Past Thunderwolves

Twelve different Lady Pioneers scored and three finished in double figures as Alfred State defeated Niagara CCC 87-45 to improve to 10-6 on the season (1-1 Region III Division II).

Camille Romero (Queens Village/Mary Louis) led the way for the blue & gold with 24 points on 10 for 20 shooting.  Amie Brooks (Pavilion) finished with 17 points and Haley Witchella (Oxford Academy) chipped in 12 points and seven boards.  Nuri Bey (Bronx/HS of Computers & Technology) came off the bench and finished with eight points.

Alfred State led 41-20 at half and finished the day shooting 50.7% from the field and 70% from the foul line.  The also forced the Thunderwolves into 30 turnovers.

Jenna Harrington led NCCC with 16 points and nine boards while Charnaye Sanders finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.

The Lady Pioneers return to action on Saturday when they host Mercyhurst North East.  Tip-of vs. the Saints is slated for 1 p.m.
