Parker and Race Named ASC Athletes of the Week

Sophomore basketball player Pat Parker (Queens/Hillcrest) and freshman wrestler Zach Race (Fulton/G Ray Bodley) have been named the ASC Athletes of the Week by the SID office.

Parker netted a career high 31 points in the Pioneers lone contest of the week at #20 CC of Beaver County.  He was 11 for 25 from the field and 5 for 15 from three in the contest.  He also grabbed seven rebounds and was credited with four steals.  It was the 5th time this season Parker scored more than 20 points in a contest.

Race was 2-1 this weekend as the Pioneer wrestling team hosted three dual meets.  He fell 5-4 in a triple overtime match to start the weekend but then earned two pins over Dan Peyron (5:46 into the match) of SUNY Cobleskill Club and Richard Berkey (28 seconds) of Stevens Tech.  On the year, Race is 10-5 with seven pins.
