Panicco Meets With Honors Program Students

Johnston, Tucker, Panicco, Binns, and SantiagoDr. Cristiana Panicco, director of the Sant'Anna Institute in Sorrento, Italy, met with members of the Alfred State College Honors Program recently to present a brief history of the language institute she founded in southern Italy. Panicco’s three-day visit came as the college expands its ‘Semester in Sorrento,’ opening study to students in all majors. Jeffrey Johnston, professor of architecture at the college, further explained the ‘Sorrento semester,’ discussing his involvement with the Institute over the past four years. Johnston showed photos of his students’ plans for a redesigned harbor now being considered by the city of Sorrento. Joining the presentation was another long-time supporter of international education, Dr. Terry Tucker, dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
