Slow Start Dooms Pioneers

The Alfred State College men's basketball team shot shot 28.1% from the field in the 1st half and fell behind 37-21 to Fulton Montgomery CC and could never recover.  FMCC went on to win the ASC Tournament championship with a 80-70 victory.

Tournament MVP Wynn Adams led the Raiders with 18 points, six rebounds, and six assists.  Saquan Palin finished with 13 points and nine boards and Tremoyne Frazier chipped in 12 points and five assists.

Pat Parker (Queens/Hillcrest) led all scorers with 22 points and added nine rebounds.  DaQuan Allen (Brooklyn/Boys & Girls) finished with 21 points, six assists, and five steals.  Both Parker and Allen were named to the all-tournament team.  Rasheem Creech (Brooklyn/Transit Tech) came off the bench and chipped in eight.

The Pioneers (4-5) shot 38.2% from the field on the day and only 50% (7 for 14) from the foul line while the Raiders shot 43.4% from the field and 66.7% from the foul line.

In the consolation game, Rockland CC defeated Northern Essex CC 79-66.

ASC returns to action after the Thanksgiving break on Nov. 30th when they travel to Finger Lakes CC for a 8 p.m. tip-off.
