Six Lady Pioneers Named All-WNYAC

Six members of the Alfred State College women's soccer team have been honored by the WNYAC.  Holli Pierce (Livonia), Jenna Lynn (York), Maura Tuffey (Albany/The Academy of the Holy Names), and Simone Delaney (Canisteo Greenwood) were 1st team selections while Lacee Pearl (Olean) and Danielle Henry (Arkport) were 2nd team.

Pierce was second on the Lady Pioneers with 23 points on the season.  She netted 11 goals (5 game winners) and one assists in 14 games.  Earlier in the season she was named 2nd team All-Region.

Lynn led the Lady Pioneers with 12 goals and 27 points (3 assists).  She appeared in all 17 games and registered three game winning goals.  She was a 1st team All-Region selection earlier in the year.

Tuffey rarely was not on the field for the Lady Pioneers this year.  She spent time in the midfield before settling into a defensive backfield position. She finished the year with three goals and an assist.  She was also a 2nd team All-Region selection.

Delaney recorded nine solo shutouts and allowed just eight goals in 1,508 minutes in net for the Lady Pioneers.  She finished the year with a 12-5 record and 81 saves.  She was in net for all but 45 minutes for ASC.  Earlier this offseason she was named 2nd team All-Region.

Pearl was third on the team in scoring.  She finished with four goals and seven assists (tied for team lead).  One of her goals was a game-winner.

Henry was a constant performer in the defensive backfield for ASC.  She helped the defensive core to allow just 0.46 goals per game on the year.  She finished the year with a goal and an assist.

The Lady Pioneers were ranked as high as #7 in the NJCAA Division III poll and advanced to the Region III Division Semfinals for the third straight season with a 12-5 mark.
