Lady Pioneers Trip up Sullivan

The Alfred State College women's basketball team tripped up Sullivan County CC 72-42 in the first round of the SUNY Delhi Tournament.  ASC advances to tomorrow's championship game vs.SUNY Delhi.

Camille Romero (Queens Village/Mary Louis) and Haley Witchella (Oxford Academy) each scored 17 points to pace the Lady Pioneers.  Amie Brooks (Pavilion) chipped in 12 and Carriola Chambers (Manhattan/Facing History) added seven.

Alfred State, 2-0 on the young season, built a 39-25 halftime lead.

The championship game of the tournament is slated for a 2 p.m. start on Sunday and is a rematch of the 2010 title game.
