Men's Soccer Earns 12th Seed for Regionals

The Alfred State College men's soccer team has qualified for the 2011 Region III Division III Tournament as the #12 seed.  The Pioneers will travel to #5 Onondaga CC for a first round contest on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.

The Pioneers finished the regular season with a 5-8-1 overall record and a 4-7-1 in Region III Division III contest.  ASC is making their tenth appearance in the Regional Tournament in the past eleven years.

Genesee CC is the #1 seed followed by Herkimer CCC, Mohawk Valley CC, and Tompkins Cortland CC.  The top four seeds received byes in the first round.

In addition to the #5 OCC/#12 ASC 1st orund round match-up, #6 Cayuga CC will host #11 Niagara CCC, #7 North Country CC will host #10 Jamestown CC, and #8 Erie CC will host SUNY Adirondack.

The winner of the Pioneers opening contest will take on #4 Tompkins Cortland CC in the second round on Tuesday.
