Lady Spikers Win Two of Three

The Alfred State College volleyball team won two of their three matches at the Monroe CC Pod on Saturday.  They defeated Corning CC 25-14, 25-17, 25-17, fell to Broome CC 25-13, 17-25, 18-25, 19-25, and downed Tompkins Cortland CC 25-14, 25-16, 25-19.

Meghan Kraus (Trumansburg) had a big day with 46 kills, 25 digs, and three aces to lead the way for the 21-13 Lady Pioneers (11-6 in Region III Division III play).  Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) had 31 kills, 23 digs, and three aces while Mandy Bush (Atoona, PA) passed out 85 assists and registered 11 kills and 18 digs.

Ashley Hulse (Hammondsport) had 15 kills and eight blocks, Mishaya Tuttle (Campbell Savona) had 12 kills, 22 digs, and seven aces, and Taylor McCarthy (Watkins Glen) chipped in 23 digs.

The Lady Pioneers wrap up the regular season on Tuesday when they travel to Buffalo to take on Erie CC in their WNYAC finale.
