Women's Soccer Suffers OT Setback
The Alfred State College women's soccer team gave Division I Monroe CC all they could handle in a back and forth WNYAC contest on Thursday. The Tribunes scored the lone goal of the contest with one minute remaining in the first overtime to escape with a 1-0 lead to improve to 11-4-1 on the season.
MCC held a 25 to 12 shot advantage in the contest including a 14-6 shot on goal difference. Simone Delaney (Canisteo Greenwood) was credited with 13 saves in net for the Lady Pioneers.
The Lady Pioneers wrap up the regular season with a 11-4 mark and a 10-3 record in Region III Division III play. The blue & gold have allowed just six goals on the season.
They have over a week off now as they wait word on their seeding for the Region III Division III Tournament which will begin with 1st Round contests on Sept. 22nd. The official seeding will be announced in the middle of next week.
