Lady Spikers Down FLCC on "Dig Pink" Night
The Orvis Activities Center was "pinked out" as the Alfred State College volleyball team defeated Finger Lakes CC 25-17, 25-15, 17-25, 25-19. The Lady Pioneers are now 19-12 on the season.
Meghan Kraus (Trumansburg) led the Pioneers with 10 kills, 14 digs, and five aces. Ashley Hulse (Hammondsport) had 10 kills and four blocks while Mandy Bush (Altoona, PA) had 34 assists, 13 digs, and four kills, and Mishaya Tuttle (Campbell Savona) had seven kills, nine digs, and five aces. Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) chipped in eight kills and five digs and Taylor McCarthy (Watkins Glen) had 11 digs.
Orvis was "pinked out" for the Lady Pioneers annual "Dig Pink" event. Alfred State wore pink jerseys and hosted numerous fundraisers in an effort to raise money for the Side-Out Foundation. Exact numbers raised during the event will be announced early next week.
Alfred State will travel to the Monroe CC Pod on Saturday. They open up play versus Corning CC at 10 a.m., play vs. Broome at 11:45 a.m., and finish vs. Tompkins Cortland CC at approximately 3:15 p.m.
