Two Second Half Goals Pace Pioneers

After struggling in the first half, the Alfred State men's soccer team erased a 1-0 halftime deficit with two second half goals to earn their second straight victory, 2-1 over Finger Lakes CC.  ASC is now 5-6-1 on the season.

Parker Weeks gave the Lakers a 1-0 lead in the first half but the Pioneers controlled more of the offense in the second half.  12:38 into the second, CJ Reynolds (East Rochester) tied the game when he scored after a free kick by Quincy Costello (Wellsville).  Six minutes later Keita Suzuki (Yokohama, Japan) scored the game-winner after getting a pretty crossing pass from Michael Yacuzzo (East Rochester).

ASC held a 20 to 16 shot advantage for the contest (13 to 11 shots on goal).  Nick Smith earned the victory with 10 saves including two beauties in the final minutes.

The blue & gold have a few days off before hosting Tompkins Cortland CC on Friday afternoon.  The contest is slated for 5 p.m. at Pioneer Stadium.
