Lady Pioneers Blank Herkimer

The Alfred State College women's soccer team won their fourth straight and recorded their ninth shutout in a 2-0 road victory over Herkimer CCC.  The Lady Pioneers, ranked #8 in the latest NJCAA DIII poll, are now 11-2 overall and 10-2 in Region III Division III play.

After a scoreless first half, Jenna Lynn (York) got ASC on the board with 32:04 remaining in the game after getting a pass from Tiffany Fox (Canisteo Greenwood).  Fox added an insurance goal 12 minutes later when she bent a corner kick into the net.

The Lady Pioneers held a 19 to 9 shot advantage (14 to 6 shots on goal).  Simone Delaney (Canisteo Greenwood) made six saves for the shutout victory.

The blue & gold return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Finger Lakes CC for a key Region III Division III contest vs. #2 Finger Lakes CC.  Heading into the weekend the Lady Lakers were 13-0-1 on the season.
