Pierce Scores Winner in Double OT

Holli Pierce (Livonia) scored 4:02 into the 2nd overtime to lift Alfred State to a 1-0 victory over Erie CC on Thursday evening.  The win improves the #8 Lady Pioneers to 8-2 on the season and 7-2 in Region III Division III play.

Pierce's goal, her third of the season, came after a long throw in by Lacee Pearl (Olean) that flew over the defense.  Pierce was one-on-one with the goalie and headed the ball past the keeper.

ASC held a 22 to 7 shot advantage (14 to 5 shots on goal).  Simone Delaney (Canisteo Greenwood) earned the victory in net making five saves while Madison Kiernan made 13 saves on the night.

The Lady Pioneers head to Cayuga CC on Saturday for a Noon contest.
