Men's Soccer Suffers Tough Loss

Alfred State and Erie CC battled back and forth for 90 minutes with the decisive plays of the contest coming within two minutes of each other.  ECC netted the lone goal of the contest five minutes into the 2nd half and then denied a penalty kick opportunity less than two minutes later.

Pablo Ordonez found the back of the net early in the second half on a shot that slipped just under the cross bar.

Minutes later, Erie goalie Rich Bund was assessed with a yellow card for tripping up a Pioneer in the box and ASC was awarded a penalty shot.  Bund made a diving save to deny the penalty shot and perserve the Kat lead.

Bund finished with five saves on the day tp record the shutout victory while Nick Smith (Arkport) made eight saves.  ECC held a 13 to 11 shot advantage (9 to 5 advantage on shots on goal) for the contest.

The Pioneers fall to 3-5-1 on the year and will travel to Cayuga CC on Saturday for a 2 p.m. tilt with the Spartans.
