Men’s Soccer Falls in Double OT

Alfred State and Niagara CCC battled back and forth in an exciting WNYAC contest.  The Thunderwolves scored just under three minutes into the second overtime to earn the 5-4 win.

NCCC jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the Pioneers got their offense going late in the first half.  Quincy Costello (Wellsville) scored after getting a long pass from Joe Markel (Arkport) to cut the lead in half with 1:47 remaining in the half and CJ Reynolds (East Rochester) took a long punt from Nick Smith (Arkport) with just over 30 seconds left and scored to tie the game at 2-2.

Niagara took back the lead five minutes into the second half but Peter Dezio (East Rochester) tied it up nine minutes later on a goal assisted by Reynolds.

The Thunderwolves took their 3rd lead of the game with 20 minutes remaining when they scored on a rebound.  ASC climbed back to tie the game and force overtime five minutes later when Dezio scored his second of the night.

After a scoreless first overtime, Mike Taylor scored the game-winner to send NCCC home happy.

The Pioneers held a 24 to 15 shot advantage in the contest.

ASC (3-4-1) return to action on Thursday when they host Erie CC at 4 p.m.
