Lady Spikers Win in Five

Trailing 2-1, the Alfred State College volleyball team rallied to win the final two games vs. Corning CC for a 3-2 victory (25-23, 24-26, 23-25, 25-19, 15-13).  The Pioneers are now 11-6 on the season.

Meghan Kraus (Trumansburg) led the way with 21 kills, eight digs, and four aces.  Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) had 10 kills and eight digs, Ashley Hulse (Hammondsport) finished with eight digs, seven kills, two blocks, and two aces, and Mishaya Tuttle (Cambell Savona) chipped in seven kills and seven digs.  Mandy Bush (Altoona, PA) passed out 41 assists and collected eight digs, four kills, and two blocks and Taylor McCarthy (Watkins Glen) had 14 digs.

The Lady Pioneers host their Pod Tournament this weekend as they take on Jamestown CC, Erie CC, and Niagara CCC.  Monroe CC and Finger Lakes CC will also be in action versus JCC, ECC, and NCCC.  Action starts at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
