Delaney and Smith Named ASC Athletes of the Week

Soccer goalies Simone Delaney (Canisteo Greenwood) and Nick Smith (Arkport) have been named the ASC Athletes of the Week selected by the Sports Information office.

Delaney recorded two shutout victories for the Lady Pioneers.  She made two saves in a 4-0 win at Jamestown CC and made eight saves in a 4-0 win at Mercyhurst North East.  Heading into action on Tuesday evening she was 4-1 in net with a 0.20 goals against average.

Smith also recorded two shutouts in goal as the men's team picked up their first two victories.  He made two saves in a 3-0 win at Jamestown CC and then made 13 saves in a double overtime 1-0 win at Mercyhurst North East.  Heading into action on Tuesday he was 2-2-1 in net with a 1.30 goals against average.  Smith was also honored by Region III by being named the male athlete of the week.
