Monroe Trips up ASC Baseball

The Monroe CC pitching staff held Alfred State to just five hits on the day as they swept a WNYAC doubleheader 2-0 and 5-0.

In the opener, Garrett Hoag (Dansville) allowed five singles but was the tough luck loser.  He struck out three and walked four in six innings of work.  The lone run came on a wild pitch in the 5th inning.  Dylan Dunn (Hornell) and Dakota James (Keshequa) collected singles for ASC.  MCC pitchers struck out 11 Pioneer hitters.

In the nightcap, MCC took advantage of Pioneer miscues and timely hitting to put together a three-run in the 4th and a two-run 5th inning.  ASC was held to three hits with Dunn collecting two of them.

ASC steps out of WNYAC play on Sunday when they host Penn Tech for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
