Lady Pioneers Shutout Saints

The Alfred State College women's soccer team earned their 3rd straight shutout and 4th of the season on Saturday with a 4-0 road victory over Mercyhurst North East.  ASC is now 4-1 and has allowed just one goal.

Holli Pierce (Livonia) started the scoring with 24:31 remaining in the 2nd half after getting a pass from Jenna Lynn (York).  Lynn made it 2-0 just over two minutes later after getting a pass from Pierce.

Adrienne Gill (Andover) put the game out of reach with just over 10 minutes left when she found the back of the net on a goal assisted by Taylor Dezio (Marion).  Maura Tuffey (Albany/The Academy of the Holy Names) added another goal with 3:33 remaining to cap the scoring.

ASC fired 40 shot in the contest with 31 being on goal while MNE had just 10 shots.  Simone Delaney (Canisteo Greenwood) made eight saves to record the shutout.

The Lady Pioneers continue their road trip on Tuesday with a 5 p.m. contest at Genesee CC.
