Lady Spikers Sweep Adirondack Pod
The Alfred State College volleyball team swept all three of their matches at the Adirondack CC Pod on Saturday. The wins improve the Lady Pioneers to 7-3 overall and 3-0 in Region III Division III play.
ASC opened the day with a 25-20, 25-9, 25-8 victory over Hudson Valley CC. They then defeated host ACC 25-12, 25-18, 25-17 before finishing the day with a 25-12, 25-18, 25-12 victory over Fulton Montgomery CC.
Meghan Kraus (Trumansburg) finished the day with 32 kills, 16 digs, and seven aces while Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) chipped in 22 kills, 17 digs, and two aces. Ashley Hulse (Hammondsport) had 21 kills, 10 aces, and three blocks, Mandy Bush (Altoona, PA) passed out 78 assists and had 17 digs, and Kara Anderson (Ontario) had 31 digs and four aces.
The Lady Pioneers have now four straight matches and have a few days off before heading to Monroe CC for a tri-match with Monroe CC and Finger Lakes CC. ASC takes on FLCC at 6 p.m. and MCC at 8 p.m.
