Baseball Downed by Niagara

Niagara CCC used big innings in both games as they swept Alfred State 7-1 & 11-4 in a WNYAC doubleheader in Sanborn on Saturday.  ASC was playing for the first time in 10 days.

In the opener, NCCC scored four in the 4th to put the game away.  Eric Mehaffy (Ogdensburg) was 1 for 2 with a RBI to lead the Pioneer offense.  ASC was held to five hits.

The Thunderwolves scored six runs in the 1st inning and never let the Pioneers back into the game.  ASC was held to four hits with Brett Rapan (Bolivar Richburg) finishing 1 for 2 with a RBI while Jake Kenney (Alfred Almond) and Mehaffy were each 1 for 3 with a RBI.

The Pioneers (0-4) continue their weekend road trip on Sunday with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at defending Region III champion Erie CC.
