Lady Pioneers Drop Pair

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

The Alfred State College softball team got back on the field for the first time in a week and fell twice to Jamestown-Olean on Thursday.  JCC-Olean won on a walk-off 3-2 in the opener and couldn't overcome a four-run 4th inning in the second game and fell 7-3.

Athena Scavo (Hornell) tied the opener with a RBI in the top of the 7th inning but the Jaguars answered right back and scored the game-winner in their half of the inning.  Amber Harding (Fillmore) led the offense with a 2 for 3 day.  She collected two doubles and a RBI.  Kate Bailey (West Valley) finished 2 for 3 as well.

JCC used a four-run 4th inning and held off all the Pioneers rally attempts.  Harding continued her hot hitting with another 2 for 3 day while Danielle Hill (Addison) was 3 for 3.

The Lady Pioneers are now 7-13 on the year and 4-8 in Region III Division III play.  They travel to Onondaga CC on Saturday for a 1 p.m. doubleheader with the Lazers.
