The Alfred State College lacrosse team fell 11-4 to Delaware Tech (Terry Campus) in their 2011 season opener.  The Pioneers trailed 5-4 at half but the Hawks held them scoreless the rest of way to improve to 2-5 on the season.

Brad Stowell (Marcellus) faced 61 shots in net for the blue & gold.  He finished the contest with 17 saves.

Mike Hart (Ajax, ONT) led the offense with two goals while Kevin Gardrvits (Glen Cove) and Keith Maloney (Brewster) found the back once.  Kyle Davis (Cortland/Home) was credited with an assist.

The Pioneers led 3-2 early in the contest but were slowed down by nine penalties.  Five of the penalties were called in the 3rd quarter.

ASC continues their spring break trip on Saturday when they take on Hudson Valley CC at RPI.  Opening face-off is slated for 2:30 p.m.
