4 x 400 & Lewis Qualify for Nationals

The women's 4 x 400 relay team and Brandon Lewis (Red Creek) qualified for next week's NJCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships with strong performances at the Collegiate Challenge at the NYC Armory.

The 4 x 400 relay team of Tara Murphy (Rochester/Wilson), Tara Noble (Rochester/Marshall), Briana Dorsey (Rochester/School of the Arts), and Pam Breedlove (Rochester/East) broke the ASC school record for the second straight week in qualifying.  They set a new standard with a run of 4:05.62.

Lewis qualified for nationals in the 500 m (1:08.28).  His time placed him 23rd in the highly competitive event.

Coach Gary Moore and ten members of his team will travel next Friday to Texas Tech University (Lubbock, TX) to compete in the NJCAA Indoor Nationals.
