Balanced Attack Leads Pioneers to Victory

The Alfred State College men's basketball team had seven players score at least nine points as they downed Medaille College JV 85-65 on Wednesday evening.  The Pioneers are now 4-20 on the season.

Patrick Parker (Jamaica/Hillcrest) led the way with 20 points, eight assists, and seven boards while Vince Antonioli (Wellsville) finished with a season high 18.  Ryan Caron (Prattsburgh) and Nick Tucker (Genesee Valley) both had 10 points while Younatan Gobezai (Bethesda, MD), Ryne Hunt (Hornell), and Joe Bowman (Frewsburg) each had nine.  Hunt added a game high 11 boards.

The Pioneers led 39-23 at halftime.  ASC finished the game shooting 44.8% from the field and 62.5% from the foul line.  They held a 51 to 45 advantage on the boards.

Mike Malicki led the Mavericks with 13 points while Pat Folland added 10. 

The Pioneers head in the final stretch of the season on Saturday with a 3 p.m. showdown with #6 Erie CC.
