Cold Shooting Dooms Lady Pioneers

The Alfred State College women's basketball team shot just 16% in the 1st half and were never able to recover in a 59-49 loss to Mercyhurst North East.  The Lady Saints are now 11-8, 6-2 Region III Division II while ASC falls to 11-12, 1-6 RIII DII.

Kaveeda Myers came off the bench and led the Saints with 25 points.  Darnesha Tomllinson finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds while Cassie Esler finished with seven points and six rebounds.

Amie Brooks (Pavilion) led the Lady Pioneers with 11 points while Camille Romeron (Queens Village/Mary Louis) finished with 10.  Nuri Bey (Bronx/Evander Childs) had a game high 19 rebounds to go along with five points while Ardaisha Hudson (Brooklyn/Food&Finance) finished with six points and 15 boards.

ASC shot just 25.9% from the field for the game, 11.8% from three, and 29.4% from the foul line.  MNE shot 35.7%, 29.4% from three, and 56% from the line.

The Lady Pioneers have a few days off before hosting Erie CC on Saturday.  Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Orvis Activities Center.
