Lady Pioneers Fall in Close One

The Alfred State College women's basketball team gave Lakeland CC all they could handle in a 59-56 loss on Saturday.  The loss snaps the Lady Pioneers four game winning streak and drops the team to 9-4 on the year.

Amie Brooks (Pavilion) led the blue & gold with 21 points, three steals, and two assists while Shadeeka Campbell (Brooklyn/William Grady) had a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards.  Jenna Harrington (Gasport) finished with 17 points and Khaylah Moss (Chenango Valley) finished with seven points and nine boards.

ASC trailed by nine at halftime but cut into the lead and trailed by just one 54-53 but could never take take the lead.

The Lady Pioneers wrap up the 2010 portion of their schedule on Thursday when they host Houghton JV at 7 p.m.
