Pioneers Can't Rally All the Way Back

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

The Alfred State College men's basketball team fell behind and couldn't rally all the way back and fell 70-60 to CC of Beaver County.  The Pioneers are now 2-4 on the season.

Beaver jumped out to a 37-20 lead at halftime and led by as many as 23 points in the second half before the Pioneers rallied to cut the lead to seven with just four minutes left.  ASC could never get any closer.

Melvin Jenkins (Brooklyn/Susan McKinney) led the blue & gold with 15 points while Patrick Parker (Jamaica/Hillcrest) added 13.  Younatan Gobezai (Bethesda, MD/Bethesda) chipped in 11.

The Pioneers have a few days off before hosting the annual Alfred State Tournament on Saturday.  ASC takes on Fulton Montgomery CC at 7 p.m. after Jefferson CC battles Rockland CC at 5 p.m.
