Johnson Named National and NFC Player of the Week

Johnson PuntsAlfred State College freshman punter Colter Johnson (Warren, PA) has been named the NJCAA and the Northeast Football Conference special teams player of the week.  Johnson had a solid day as the Pioneers battled #8 Nassau CC.

Johnson punted three times on the day for 137 yards good for an average of 45.7 yards.  He had a long of 52 yards on the day.

On the year, Johnson is averaging 38.9 yards per punt.  He has a long of 77 and has put nine punts inside the 20.  In total he has 47 punt attempts.

Johnson is the second Pioneer this season, Sir Aaron Taylor, that have been honored by the NJCAA.

Johnson and the Pioneers (4-5) wrap up the 2010 campaign on Saturday with a 11 a.m. kickoff at Louisburg (NC) College.
