Lady Pioneers Power Past Cayuga
The Alfred State College women's basketball team used a 79 to 46 rebounding advantage en route to a 69-56 victory over Cayuga CC. ASC is now 3-2 on the season.
Shadeeka Campbell (Brooklyn/William Grady) led the Lady Pioneers with 12 points and 14 rebounds while Nuri Bey (Bronx/Evander Childs) came off the bench and finished with 10 points and 21 boards. Jenna Harrington (Gasport) chipped in 12 points and Amie Brooks (Pavilion) finished with 10.
The Lady Pioneers struggled shooting. They shot 33.7% from the floor, 25% from three, and just 30% from the line.
Briana Seda led the Lady Spartans with 14 points and seven boards while Jamersena Nwajei came off the bench and chipped in nine points and eight rebounds. Cayuga shot 30.6% from the floor, 33.3% from three, and 25% from the foul line.
The blue and gold travel to Houghton College on Thursday evening for a 6 p.m. tip-off with the JV Highlanders.
