Pioneers Open Up Hoop Season Tomorrow

The Alfred State College men's and women's basketball teams will open up their 2010-11 seasons on Tuesday evening when they host Broome CC at the Orvis Activities Center.

The Lady Pioneers schedule features 26 games including two tournaments (@ SUNY Delhi Tournament and host the ASC Tournament).  ASC will feature a very young squad that has only two returners from last year's 11-16 team.

The men's team features five players (two players from last year, two from 2008-09, and one transfer) that have junior college basketball experience hoping to better the 12-18 record of 2009-10.  The Pioneers will play a 28 game schedule featuring their annual ASC Tournament the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Tip-off for the women's season is at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday while the men tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
