Men finish 12th, Women 13th at U of R

The Alfred State College cross country team competed with 15 complete teams at the University of Rochester Invitational.  The men finished 12th with 349 points while the women finished 13th with 420 points.

Joe Seitz (Williamsville North) led the Pioneers with a 107th place finish.  He finished the 8k course in 28:45.  Alex Farrell (N. Tonawanda) was 112th (28:53), Jordan Friedman (Clarkstown South) was 116th (28:58), and Derek Snyder (Bath) was 119th (29:05).

Abbey Benton (Frewsburg) led the Lady Pioneers with a 93rd place finish.  She ran the 5k course in 21:49.  Tara Murphy (Rochester/Wilson) was 106th (22:21), Alison Hadley (East Aurora/Mt. Mercy) was 144th (24:40), and Zinta Rutins (Silver Spring, MD) was 156th (26:28).

The University of Rochester men's team won the team title while McMaster University won the women's title.

ASC returns to action in two weeks (10/30) when they compete at the Region III Championships at Finger Lakes CC.
