Early Goal Propels Pioneers Past Corning

Peter Dezio (East Rochester) scored 7:13 into the contest as Alfred State defeated Corning CC 1-0 in a Region III Division III contest at Pioneer Stadium on Thursday evening.  ASC improves to 4-5-2 on the season while CCC falls to 3-7-1.

Lucas Wales (Bath) fired a perfect crossing pass that Dezio was able to control and find the back of the net. 

Both teams had chances as the game progressed as shots rang off the goal posts and both goalies made goal saving saves.

ASC finished with a 13 to nine shot advantage.  Dan Krajcir (Gloversville) recorded his second straight shutout and third of the season by making five saves.

The Pioneers return to action on Saturday when they travel to Finger Lakes CC for a 1 p.m. start.
