Baseball Falls Twice at Jamestown

Jamestown CC swept a pair from Alfred State in a WNYAC doubleheader on Saturday.  JCC scored two in the 7th for a walk-off 4-3 victory in game one and then shutout the Pioneers 2-0 in the nightcap.

The Jayhawks scored two unearned runs in the 7th to rally from a 3-2 deficit.  The winning run scored with two outs after a Pioneer errror.  Tyler Mann (Holland Patent) went 6.2 innings allowing two earned runs while walking four and striking out six.  Travis Fenstermaker (Leroy) was the lone Pioneer with two hits finishing 2 for 3.  Anthony Espe (Union Endicott) was 1 for 4 with a RBI.

In the nightcap, ASC couldn't must much offense but did strand the tying run on base in the 7th inning.  Kevan Smith (Cicero North Syracuse) led the offense with a 2 for 3 day.  Garrett Hoag (Dansville) tossed six innings allowing just one earned run.  He walked seven and struck out three.

Alfred State (4-8, 3-7 WNYAC) wrap up the fall regular season on Sunday when they travel to Genesee CC for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
